THANK YOU to all Settler Days Volunteers

The Rain didn’t hamper the 2015 Settler Days Weekend

The much needed rain didn’t stop residents and visitors from attending Settler Days events.  Thursday’s “Music on the Veranda” showcased another successful array of talent as the rain held off long enough for the event.  Friday saw the Chili Cook-off moved inside the Reunion Centre building, yet the rain broke long enough for the “cake walk” to take place outside.  The teen swim carried on as scheduled while the movie in the park moved indoors and was very well attended.

Saturday brought beautiful weather and all events went forward as scheduled.  The parade showcased Don and Joyce Christensen as the honorary parade marshals.  The PJ Run was a success again, the pancake breakfast served our fire departments best, while the Michelsen Farmstead vintage market was fun new event.  The pool hosted fun games, activities throughout the day and the kids carnival was a lot of fun for the little ones.  A new hot dog eating contest winner, James Adams, was awarded the champions cup.  Beef on a bun sold out, the family dance had one of the largest crowds over the last few years and the fireworks show was outstanding.  Thanks to all the volunteers this made for another very memorable Settlers Days weekend.

Thanks to Volunteers

The Village of Stirling thanks all volunteers who helped put on the annual Settler Days weekend.  A weekend full of events requires countless hours of volunteers time to take place and Stirling continues to have many people step forward.  So once again THANK YOU Settler Days Volunteers.
