2016 Tax Notice and Assessment mailed out to Residents

Tax Bills Now Available

All residents should have received a combined tax notice and assessment in the mail.  The tax bill is a combination of Municipal Taxes, Education Requisition and the Seniors Foundation Levy.  The total tax bill amount is based on the assessed value (A.V.) of your property multiplied by the combined mill rate for the municipal taxes (M.T.), education requisition (E.R.) and the Seniors Foundation levy (S.L.)
Total Taxes = A.V. x (M.T.+E.R.+S.L.)
The municipality collects the requisitions on behalf of the Provincial Government for education and for the Seniors Foundation.

If you believe your assessment is incorrect, you can appeal it on or before July 8, 2016.  Please contact the Village Office for more information on the process.

Payments

Payments can be made at the Village Office by cheque, debit or credit card.  Payments are considered late after June 30, 2016 and a 10% penalty will be applied on July 2, 2016.  An additional 2% penalty will be assessed the first day of each month until the taxes are fully paid.
