Curbside Garbage Collection Program Update

Weekly Garbage Collection Will Begin May 31

The Village has announced the curbside garbage collection program will begin Tuesday, May 31.  Collection will be weekly with carts being picked up every Tuesday, unless it is a statutory holiday.  Carts must be out on the roadside by 8:00 a.m. and there must be nothing found within 1 metre (3.3 feet) circumference of the bin.

The new collection fee will be added to the June utility bill.

If Collection day falls on a statutory holiday, pick up will be the next business day which will be Wednesday in most cases.  Reminders will be posted on facebook and on the Village website.

More information will follow as information becomes available.  A full presentation on the new garbage collection program was presented at the May Town Hall meeting, including the new draft Waste Management Bylaw No. 464-16.
