Tax Installment Payment Program (TIPP)
What is the TIPP?
The Tax Installment Payment Program allows taxpayers to make automatic monthly payments for taxes rather than a single annual payment.
How does TIPP work?
TIPP provides property owners with the opportunity to make 12 consecutive monthly property tax payments as opposed to a single, annual payment, making it easier to budget and eliminating the risk of a late payment. Payments will be withdrawn automatically from a bank account on the 15th of each month, beginning in January (if the 15th day falls on a weekend or a holiday, the payment will be withdrawn the following business day). Taxes on TIPP are paid in full after the December 15th withdrawal and are not subject to penalties.
Benefits to the TIPP program:
- No waiting in line to make payments
- No missed deadlines
- No concerns with regards to payments being lost in the mail
- No tax penalties (as long as monthly payments are kept current)
- No lump sum payments
- No need to reapply each year once you are enrolled
Village does not charge for this service, however, normal bank service fees may apply. If the automatic withdrawal comes back as NSF, the Village will charge a $45 NSF fee.
If you would like to sign up, you can fill out the TIPP form here. You can bring the signed copy as well as your banking information into the Village Office. If you have any questions, please contact the Village Administration office at 403-756-3379 or office@stirling.ca.
