Garbage drop off at transfer station – 2 days a week

The Village of Stirling transfer station officially moves to a year round 2 day/week schedule.  The new schedule is a result of reduced usage which followed the introduction of the curbside bin collection program.  The transfer station will now run every Tuesday evening and Saturday – year round.  Excepting statutory holiday, the schedule will be as follows:

Tuesday 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

In spring of 2016 the municipality started a village wide bin collection program which has resulted in a reduction in usage.  The new schedule takes effect immediately.

Transfer Station Upgrades

Transfer station upgrades are scheduled for mid 2017.  In late 2016, Village Council approved the plan for the new layout.  Preparations at the site will begin in the next few months.  The updates will allow for improvement to the Village recycling program and will help divert recyclable materials from the transfer station and landfill.  More information will be made available over the coming months.
