October 27, 2023 – EMERGENCY Water Shut Off *** UPDATED ***
*** October 27, 2023 – 8:20 p.m. ***
Water has been fully restored! Once again, we thank our hard-working Public Works and Contractors for (another) long day of water repairs.
Thank you to our residents for their understanding and patience. Two major water repairs in three days is NOT fun!
The Boil Water Advisory will remain in place until we are cleared by Alberta Health Services (AHS). An update will be posted once AHS has contacted Village Administration. If there’s no update, the advisory is still in place. Until that time, please follow their guidelines: Boil Water Advisory: How to Use Water Safely in Your Home (alberta.ca)
*** October 27, 2023 – 3:40 p.m. ***
The main water line has been repaired and, barring any other failures or issues, crews are re-filling the system. This process will take several hours at least. During this re-pressurizing, residents are asked to occasionally turn on their taps help bleed air out of the system and to see when the water has been restored.
Once again, WE ARE UNDER A BOIL WATER ADVISORY: Boil Water Advisory: How to Use Water Safely in Your Home (alberta.ca)
Digging out the broken section of the 16″ pipe, about nine feet down, in challenging conditions.
The valve that failed.
The calcium build-up that prevented the flapper from closing – why the valve failed.
Installation almost completed of the new pipe and valves.

October 27, 2023 – 11:55 a.m.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the Village has suffered a second failure on our main potable water line into town. As a result of this failure, we will have to shut off potable water services to all properties in the Village at 1:00 p.m. today. The shut-off will also include the Bulk Water Station. Crews are currently on-site. Updates will be posted here, as well as Village of Stirling | Stirling AB | Facebook
A BOIL WATER ADVISORY WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT AFTER REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED.
