Stirling Historical Society Makes Significant Donation

School Modernization Fundraising Committee Receives Big Donation from Local Society

After a recent call from the School Modernization Fundraising Committee to local service clubs and organizations the Stirling Historical Society makes a $5000 donation.

Historical Society Treasurer Bruce Larson says he was really pleased with the attitude of the Society members and their desire to help the community.  Larson says he feels this donation is a really generous gesture from their membership.

Historical Society President Larry Nilsson says we wanted to be part of the school modernization project and this financial contribution let us do that.  He added the job of the Historical Society is to preserve the past but we also wanted to be part of something that will be a really important piece of Stirling’s future.

The Fundraising Committee Chair Ben Nilsson says we appreciate the generous donation from the Historical Society and their desire to participate in something we know is very important to our community as a whole.  He says we hope that all our groups and societies have the same desire to participate.  Nilsson adds that our School is a very significant part of our Community.  He says we are happy to be able to partner with the School Division to help make the most of a project that will have such a long lasting effect for present and future generations.

The fundraising efforts are about 1/4 of the way to the goal of $1,000,000.  Visit gostirling.com for more details about the fundraising project and to get information about the donor recognition program.  Donations over $100 will get a tax receipt and be recognized on the “Donor Wall”
