Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP)
The Village of Stirling is proud to launch the Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) with Pre-Qualification Applications opening September 12, 2023. Administered by the Alberta Municipalities (AM), CEIP is an innovative financing tool for property owners in Alberta, providing them with a new way to finance up to 100% of the cost of energy efficiency upgrades or renewable energy installations. Access competitive rates and make repayment convenient through your property’s regular tax bill. What’s more, repayment is tied to the property, not the owner—so you can invest in money saving upgrades now, without worrying about what happens when the property sells.
Eligible residential upgrade categories include:
- Heating, ventilation & air conditioning
- Renewable energy, solar PV & thermal
- Lighting fixtures and controls
- Water heating
- Doors, windows, insulation & air sealing
How does the Clean Energy Improvement Program work exactly?
The Clean Energy Improvement Program works in five main steps:
- Pre-qualifications: Property owners submit your credentials to ensure your property meets the basic program eligibility criteria set by Stirling’s CEIP Terms and Conditions.
- Home Evaluation and Project Application: Once approved, you select a qualified contractor to complete an EnerGuide Home Evaluation and submit your project application form.
- Agreements: If approved, CEIP confirms the approved financing amount and the agreement.
- Installation: Your project upgrade can begin and must be completed within six months of receiving the Installation Authorizations Notice.
- Repayment: After your upgrade is complete and passes a post-project evaluation, CEIP will pay your qualified contractor and the approved project cost will be recoded on your property’s tax account.
