Bylaws, Policies and Licenses

All dogs must be licensed.  Dogs are regulated under the Dog Control Bylaw No. 530 and Amendment to Bylaw No. 530. Cats are regulated under the Responsible Cat Ownership Bylaw No. 476.  All other animals are regulated under the Animal Bylaw No. 471.  

Dog Tags Licenses – Limit of three (3) dogs/household. Spayed or neutered $30.00/dog, unaltered $50.00/dog

Horses/Livestock – 2/acre (maximum of 10) – $25.00/animal

Chicken/Poultry – Limit of 8 for less than 1 acre – $25.00 flat fee

                          – Limit of 25 for more than 1 acre – $25.00 flat fee

No pigs/swine are allowed within the Village.

Business Licenses are available at the Village office.  The Business License Bylaw requires all Store Front and Home Based Businesses to have a valid license.  In addition all Store Front Businesses must have the license posted in a visible area within your business.  

Fees range from $25.00 to $60.00.

The license is recognized in Raymond, Magrath, Coaldale, Barons, Picture Butte, Coalhurst & Nobleford.  With the purchase of a Business License you will have your business listed on the Village of Stirling website Business Directory
