2025 Municipal Election – Nomination Information

The Municipal Election is approaching quickly. Nomination Day is the final opportunity to submit your completed nomination package if you wish to run for elected office as a Councillor for the Village of Stirling.

The 2025 Election will determine five Councillor positions for a four-year term (October 2025 – October 2029). Following the election, the newly elected Council will appoint the Mayor and Deputy Mayor from among its members.

 

 

Key Dates and Deadlines

• Nomination Deadline: Monday, September 22, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. sharp. Nominations received after this time cannot be accepted.

• Advanced Voting: October 2, 2025    237 - 4 Avenue, Stirling, Alberta T0K 2E0

• Election Day: Monday, October 20, 2025    Community Centre/Lion's Hall 409- 2 Street, Stirling, Alberta T0K 2E0

Acclamation
If exactly five valid nominations are received by the close of Nomination Day, those individuals will be declared elected by acclamation and no vote will be held.
